I have been blessed to serve as Bethel's Pastor since January 23, 2015. I was ordained as a Minister of the Word and Sacraments in September 1998 shortly after I graduated seminary (Master of Divinity Degree from Mid-America Reformed Seminary in Dyer, Indiana). This year will mark my 20th year in the Pastoral ministry and that is a testimony to God's amazing goodness and unfailing grace. It reminds me of the stone that Samuel erected as a monument and he named it "Ebenezer" saying: Thus far has God helped us (1 Samuel 7:12).

Previous to serving as Bethel's Pastor, I served two other congregations both in the United States. I am married to my wife Laura and we have 7 children. Our three youngest children live here in Calgary with us, but the four oldest children live back "home" in Lansing, Illinois and Northwest, Indiana. We also have 5 grandchildren.

Both Laura and I are originally from Illinois. We grew up in the far south suburbs of Chicago (in South Holland and Lansing, IL). While leaving our oldest children and grandchildren behind and moving to Calgary was a difficult challenge, God has blessed our decision in so many ways. We truly love living here in Calgary and we are excited to serve our church family.

My hobbies include playing tennis with my wife, golf, chess (but not against my wife), fishing, and hosting our annual Summit Reformed Youth Conference here in Calgary. Not kidding -- that's one of my favorite weeks of the whole year!!

Favorite Sports Team: The Chicago Cubs

Favorite Food: Alberta Steak, Deep Dish Pizza (Chicago Style)

Favorite Things about Calgary: Mountain Views, Long Summer Days, Great People!
